SEAS Alumnus José González Emphasizes Culture and Community at Annual Research Conference

We were excited to host José González, founder and director of Latino Outdoors for our annual DDCSP Research Symposium on on Friday, July 28. He gave an inspiring talk called "Tu Cuentas, Yo Cuento: Leading through an Inclusive Narrative," which delved into his experience creating an organization that brings together Latinx culture with recreation and environmental stewardship.

Before José's keynote, our twenty four first year DDCSP scholars presented their research posters to over 100 public attendees. With topics ranging from forest dynamics, harmful algal blooms, soil fertility, and impacts of climate change on human communities, the poster session represented the diverse array of emerging topics in the environmental field that these students are passionate about!
